Deputy Chief Nursing Officer

The Deputy Chief Nursing Officer provides nursing leadership to the Trust while supporting the Chief Nursing Officer to deliver effective integrated clinical, operational and financial performance across the Trust. This role supports quality, safety and patient experience across the Division, contributing to the Quality Improvement Plan and the Corporate Nursing Agenda. They are responsible for driving the nursing strategy and vision for the organisation, ensuring the effective implementation of both national and local strategies and the achievement of service objectives within available resources.

In addition to their leadership duties, the Deputy Chief Nursing Officer is involved in workforce management, finance and budgeting, education and development, patient flow, performance management, digital technology and research. They also work externally across both the acute provider collaborative and the integrated care system to ensure improvements to nursing care are consistent, aligned and reduce inequity across providers.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Nursing
  • Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
  • Post-Graduate Course
  • Masters Level Education

  • Divisional Director of Nursing

Chief Nursing Officer

The Chief Nursing Officer is responsible for overseeing and directing nursing and patient care services within the Trust. They provide leadership to the nursing team, ensuring high standards of patient care and compliance with healthcare regulations. This role involves developing strategic plans, setting goals for the nursing workforce and implementing policies and procedures to improve the overall quality of care.

In addition to their leadership duties, Chief Nursing Officers are involved in workforce management, finance and budgeting, education and development, patient flow, performance management, digital technology and research.
