Testosterone pathway
Step 1: Request your first testosterone prescription
The option to request testosterone through this web page closed on 1 July 2026. Requests to start testosterone have moved to our new text message pathway via ISLA.
If you have not received an initial ISLA text message, or have been directed here to start testosterone, please email chelwest.gynaecology.admin@nhs.net with the following request:
“Can the menopause team please send me an ISLA link to start testosterone, as recommended at my recent appointment?”
Step 2: Three-month blood test
To assess the benefit of your testosterone treatment, an up-to-date testosterone blood test result is required.
You will receive an automatic follow-up text message exactly three months after your initial ISLA message, prompting you to arrange a repeat testosterone blood test.
If you have been on testosterone for three months but have not received this ISLA message, you can arrange your blood test using the link below.
Step 3: Submit your results
Two weeks later, you will receive a final ISLA text message asking you to submit your blood test result and request a letter to be sent to your GP with advice about ongoing treatment.
If you have not received this ISLA message, you can submit your results using the link below.
