Maternity cultural safety champions

The aim of a cultural safety champion is to facilitate and accelerate organisational change within the maternity services and to embed, sustain and accelerate culturally safe practice within the service for all women, birthing people, their families and staff.

Maternity cultural safety champions consist of staff working in the maternity unit and service users from the Maternity Voices Partnership.

Your feedback is invaluable to our continued development. If you have a good experience within our maternity service and felt that you and your family were treated fairly and your cultural needs were met, then we would love to hear from you, so we know we are getting your care right for you.

If you feel that you or your family were not treated fairly due to your cultural requirements then we would also like to hear from you, so we can address this and work towards making positive improvements.

We can be contacted by emailing chelwest.maternity.cultural.safety@nhs.net.

We are here to assist or direct you to services that can support you.

Please note that for urgent care, the usual emergency contacts should be used, as the email account above is not monitored 24/7.
