FAQs

Can I get everything done at the young people’s walk-in clinics?

Yes, you can get information and advice, sexual health screening and treatment, contraception and emergency contraception.

Will you tell anyone that I have been to the clinic?

We provide a confidential service to all our patients—this means we will not talk about your visit to anyone outside of the clinic without your permission.

However, if we have concerns about your safety, or the safety of another young person, we may need to share this information with our safeguarding team. We will always try and ensure you are involved in these conversations.

Who will I see at the clinic?

When you arrive at the clinic, you will be booked in by one of reception staff who will confirm your details. It is important that you provide an up-to-date mobile number to ensure you receive your results.

Depending on the reason for your visit, you may be seen by a doctor, nurse practitioner, staff nurse, healthcare assistant and/or sexual health advisor. We have male and female staff members working within the clinic—if you have a preference, please inform reception.
