Let’s talk about birth (classes for early pregnancy)
A two-part mid-trimester workshop
Firstly, congratulations on your pregnancy! As you approach your second trimester, you may already be thinking about birth and the choices ahead.
Although we recommend taking your main antenatal classes in the third trimester, we understand that you may wish to start exploring your options earlier. With this in mind, we offer a set of two online workshops designed for early pregnancy.
These sessions provide information about birth at both Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and West Middlesex University Hospital, including the care pathways available. They also give you space to reflect on your thoughts and feelings around birth.
The workshops are facilitated by a Senior Midwife and our Parentcraft Coordinator and run regularly on Monday mornings. Ideally, they are taken in order:
- Book Let’s Talk about Birth Part 1 (16–20 weeks of pregnancy)
- Book Let’s Talk about Birth Part 2 (20–24 weeks of pregnancy)
You are welcome to join later in pregnancy if you have missed these timeframes. While the classes are mainly designed for first pregnancies, they may also be helpful if this is your first time giving birth in the UK or if you would like additional support.
