A Senior Site Sister supports the Clinical Site Management Team in ensuring care and service delivery across a 24-hour period, seven days a week. The Senior Site Sister is a clinical expert who can assist ward staff in the delivery of care when additional advice is required. They also support the Critical Care Outreach Team in the care of deteriorating patients and assist Clinical Site Managers with patient flow and discharge. In addition, as a member of the senior nursing team, the Senior Site Sister is responsible for ensuring and maintaining the quality of care across the Trust during key out-of-hours periods.

A Clinical Site Manager ensures the smooth operation and management of hospital sites. They are responsible for maintaining daily capacity, facilitating patient flow across all specialties in the Trust to promote positive patient outcomes and enhance the patient's hospital journey. This role involves working closely with divisional management teams to support the Trust in achieving both urgent care and elective quality targets.
Clinical Site Managers provide 24/7 senior nursing support and clinical advice to all areas within the Trust and act as key responders in the event of a critical or major incident. They manage the Trust’s operational bed capacity, ensuring safe and effective decision-making across all specialties to streamline the patient journey at the points of admission, transfer and discharge. Additionally, they maintain proactive, concise, accurate and timely communication with all Trust stakeholders to support planned and urgent care capacity plans.

The Deputy Head of Site role involves several key responsibilities aimed at ensuring the safe operation and management of the hospital site. The Deputy Head of Site is responsible for managing daily site operations, coordinating activities, ensuring departmental efficiency and addressing any issues that arise. A critical responsibility is overseeing the discharge process, working with the Discharge Lead and other team members to ensure patients are discharged safely and efficiently. The role requires strong leadership skills to coordinate with teams such as the Emergency Incident Command (EIC) team, transport, therapies and other departments. The Deputy Head of Site often participates in command centre huddles to discuss and plan daily activities. They play a crucial role in managing site pressures and responding to operational challenges, including participating in pilot projects and improvement initiatives to enhance site management.

This includes coordinating activities, addressing operational issues and ensuring the smooth running of the site. They play a pivotal role in managing site pressures and responding to challenges, including leading on pilot projects and process improvements to enhance site management.
Strategically, the Head of Site is responsible for horizon scanning and developing actions and mitigations for any external changes that may impact the running of the site. These may include changes in demand, capacity or policy.
