Roles

Theatre Support Worker/Healthcare Assistant

Theatre Support Workers assist the perioperative team by preparing operating theatres, transporting patients, managing equipment, and ensuring cleanliness. They play a vital role in maintaining a safe and efficient surgical environment.

ODP Degree Apprenticeship

This apprenticeship combines academic study with practical experience, allowing trainees to earn while they learn. Apprentices work under supervision in clinical settings while studying towards a BSc in Operating Department Practice.

Development

Upon successful completion, apprentices are eligible to apply for HCPC registration as qualified ODPs, typically entering the workforce at Band 5.

Student ODP (BSc Operating Department Practice)

Students enrolled in a BSc (Hons) Operating Department Practice programme receive comprehensive training in anaesthetics, surgery, and post-operative care, preparing them for the multifaceted role of an ODP.

Development

Graduates are eligible to register with the HCPC and commence practice as Band 5 ODPs within the NHS.
