John Hunter Clinic for Sexual Health (JHC)

John Hunter Clinic—open for booked urgent appointments only

To keep patients and our staff safe we are having to make some urgent temporary changes to how we manage all patient pathways

In response to the COVID-19 outbreak we ask all our patients to follow this advice before attending our service:

If you have COVID-19  symptoms please DO NOT attend John Hunter Clinic. Self-isolate and visit the NHS website for further advice.

As a result of social distancing guidance, we will only be able to see a limited number of patients per day and only if they fulfil our phone triage/assessment criteria for urgent sexual health-related problems, including Post Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) and appointments for Long Acting Reversible contraception (LARC).

Our clinical team will discuss your symptoms with you over the telephone and assess whether you need to attend a face to face appointment.

Please only attend the John Hunter Clinic if you have been triaged (assessed ) over the phone and have been given an appointment in clinic. We are currently not seeing any walk-in patients.

We have developed advice for all patients attending for insertion of Intrauterine Contraception (COIL). Please ensure you read this information carefully prior to your appointment to have an IUD or IUS fitted.

Screening for sexually transmitted infections can be performed using a home test kit, ordered online via Sexual Health London—please read more below.

If you feel your problem is urgent or you need LARC, please contact us on 020 3315 4040 during the following times:

  • Mon–Fri: 9am–4:45pm
