A guide for parents

We have designed Your neonatal unit guide with parents whose babies required neonatal care. It includes information parents found helpful to know when their baby was on a neonatal unit. Its design was co-led by Sophia Kotzamanis, a parent whose premature twin boys were cared for on the Chelsea and Westminster neonatal unit.

This work is part of an Imperial College London PhD project, BUDS (Better Use of Data to improve parent Satisfaction). The project is supported by Bliss (the National Charity for the Newborn UK) and funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) and the NIHR Collaboration for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care (CLAHRC) Northwest London.

This booklet’s design and printing has been made possible thanks to donations to the Chelsea and Westminster Neonatal Intensive Care Unit fund. If you would like to get involved with fundraising or make a donation, please contact our neonatal matron on 020 3315 7883 or our hospital charity CW+ at .

We are constantly trying to improve the way we communicate with parents and involve them in their baby’s care. If there is anything else you think we should include in this booklet please let us know.
