Trust celebrates success at the HSJ Digital Awards

The Trust has been recognised for digital excellence at the HSJ Digital Awards, winning for its AI-powered teledermatology pathway and earning multiple finalist spots across key categories.
Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is proud to share that its teledermatology team has won the Digital Clinical Safety Award at the HSJ Digital Awards. The team was recognised for its work on “Demonstrating the Clinical Safety of AI-powered Teledermatology: Transitioning from Pilot to Sustainable Standard Practice.”
This innovative pathway has safely discharged over 2,600 patients and enabled the Trust to avoid 95 per cent of urgent face-to-face appointments, significantly increasing dermatology capacity for patients with suspected skin cancer.
The Trust was also named as a finalist across several categories:
- James Bird – Finalist, Digital Leader of the Year
- Best For You (in partnership with CNWL, CWFT, West London and CW+) – Finalist, Improving Mental Health Through Digital
- North West London APC – Finalist, Improving Medicines Management and Pharmacy, for work on therapeutic duplicate prescribing alerts for analgesia and anticoagulants
- Teledermatology team – Finalist, Unlocking Productivity and Efficiency Through Digital
This recognition is a testament to the Trust’s continued commitment to innovation, collaboration, and the delivery of safe, effective and transformative digital healthcare. It also highlights the strength of the partnerships that underpin this work across the region.
