Celebrating the success of the 2025 'Hot Topics in Global Health' Conference

24 June 2025

The Postgraduate Medical Education team hosted the second annual Hot Topics in Global Health Conference, bringing together leading voices and cross-specialty expertise at a landmark international event.

The Postgraduate Medical Education team successfully delivered the second annual Hot Topics in Global Health (HTGH) Conference in 2025, hosted at the Japan House venue in Kensington. The event continues to grow as a key platform for cross-specialty learning and dialogue in the field of global health.

Bringing together doctors and healthcare professionals from a wide range of disciplines, the conference featured an impressive line-up of speakers from leading institutions, including the Three Royal Colleges, The David Nott Foundation, The Ronald Reagan Institute of Emergency Medicine, The George Washington University (USA), the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, and the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine.

Chelsea and Westminster Hospital was strongly represented, with expert contributions from Dr Luke Moore, Dr Nabeela Mughal, Dr Keerti Gedela, Dr Sampath Weerakody, Dr Shweta Gidwani and Dr Naeem Ahmed—all of whom delivered insightful and engaging sessions.

Course organiser and Director of Medical Education, Dr Orhan Orhan, commented: “This is an important part of curricula that straddles all specialties. I want to thank our excellent fellows for working so hard to put this together and, of course, the many speakers who helped make the day such a success.”

We look forward to seeing this valuable initiative continue to evolve and expand in the years ahead
