Celebrating International Nurses Day 2025

12 May 2025

The Trust celebrated International Nurses Day with heartfelt thanks, a national film featuring our staff, and a powerful message recognising the vital impact of nurses across the Trust and beyond.

A message from Rob Bleasdale, Chief Nurse Officer for International Nurses Day:

"Today we mark International Nurses Day alongside our celebrations of Midwifery and ODP colleagues in a week long celebration and I want to say thank you. Your dedication does not go unnoticed. Whether pioneering new ways of working, leading ward improvements, or advancing research and innovation, you continually raise the standard of care and make a profound difference to the lives of those we serve now and in the future.

I am truly honoured to work with you and deeply grateful for all that you do. Together, you form a key part of the patient care given at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and play a vital role in making our Trust one of the highest performing in the country."

A national film led by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), featuring a number of our staff, was launched to celebrate International Nurses Day.

This year’s theme, Caring for Nurses Strengthens Economies, reflects the essential contribution nurses make not only to healthcare but also to the resilience and wellbeing of our wider society. By supporting our nurses, we help build healthier communities and stronger economies.

The video is a tribute to all our nurses, sharing some of the inspiring journeys and achievements of our colleagues, and highlighting the incredible impact they have every single day. Thank you to everyone who took part, and to all our nurses for your determination and hard work in providing professional and compassionate care to our patients.
