On Tuesday 9th December, players from Brentford FC surprised patients and staff at West Middlesex Hospital with special gifts.

Aaron Hickey, Matthew Cox, Julian Eyestone and Ellery Balcombe headed to the paediatric department, delivering presents and taking photos with excited patients, families and staff. The team also handed out Brentford FC reindeer soft toys to the younger patients.

Kristoffer Ajer and Ethan Pinnock also went to the Mulberry Centre, a cancer support charity based at West Middlesex Hospital which offers vital support to those affected by cancer. Here, the players greeted and mingled with patients, posed for photos, and signed autographs. There were even some Brentford football fans who proudly wore their shirts for the visit.

Sheena Basnayake, Managing Director of West Middlesex Hospital, shared “I would like to say a big thank you to the Brentford FC team on behalf of myself and the Trust for spending the evening with our young patients and their families. This visit helps to spread festive joy to many patients and staff during an otherwise challenging time”.

Raj Athwal, CEO for the Mulberry Centre, also added, “We were delighted to welcome Brentford FC to The Mulberry Centre on 9 December. Their time, kindness and genuine interest in our clients made the visit incredibly special. For many of the people we support, moments like this offer a lift at a time when life feels very challenging. We are grateful for Brentford FC’s continued support and proud to have them as part of our community.”
