Safeguarding and statutory information
This section brings together information about safeguarding and statutory processes that may be relevant to children and families using Cheyne Child Development Service. It includes guidance on support for children who are looked after and what to do if you have concerns about a child’s safety or wellbeing.
Safeguarding
Safeguarding means protecting children and young people from harm and making sure they grow up in a safe, supportive environment. If you have any concerns about a child’s safety, it’s important to share them with the right service as soon as possible.
Statutory information
Some children and families may be involved with statutory services, for example when a child is looked after by a local authority, or where there are child protection plans in place. The pages in this section explain what these terms mean and what you can expect, including who is involved and how information may be shared.
