Celebrating Disability History Month at our Trust

21 November 2025

From 20 November to 20 December, we are marking Disability History Month by shining a light on the lived experiences, strengths and contributions of disabled colleagues across our Trust. This year, our focus is firmly on the voices and stories within our own workforce, highlighting the people who shape our organisation every day.

From 20 November to 20 December, we are marking Disability History Month by shining a light on the lived experiences, strengths and contributions of disabled colleagues across our Trust. This year, our focus is firmly on the voices and stories within our own workforce, highlighting the people who shape our organisation every day.

Championing inclusion through lived experience

The Disability Network is leading this year’s activity, sharing a series of staff stories that reflect the diversity of disability across our organisation. These personal accounts offer insight into the realities of visible and hidden disabilities, long-term health conditions and neurodivergence, and the impact of supportive teams, adjustments and understanding.

By centring the experiences of our colleagues, we are deepening awareness, challenging stigma and continuing our work to build a workplace where every member of staff feels seen, valued and able to thrive.

A culture rooted in support and belonging

Our commitment to inclusion goes beyond this month. Through our People Strategy and the work of our staff networks, we are strengthening a culture where fairness, respect and accessibility underpin everything we do. Disability History Month provides a moment to reflect on that progress, recognise where we can improve and recommit to making our organisation a place where everyone can succeed.
