HIV patients at Sexual Health Hounslow

This information is intended for our medical patients at Sexual Health Hounslow to give information about our clinic and useful contacts. If you require further information please speak to a member of staff.

Medical appointments

We offer medical appointments on Tuesday mornings  and afternoons, and Thursday afternoons. All patients must make arrangements to attend on these days as the clinic will have the appropriate members of staff available to support you. When contacting the clinic please advise staff that you are a medical patient in order to book you the correct clinic slot.

We do not offer HIV care during the walk-in clinics, please be advised you will be asked to return during medical appointments.

Doctor’s appointments

As part of your medical care you will be asked to make an appointment to see the specialist consultant for a review, medication and/or a blood test. At each visit you will be advised when you need to book your next appointment.

For patients who are stable and have no other concerns, routine appointments are every six months and should be made with the reception team before leaving the clinic.

Your appointments can be written on your clinic card for you. If you need to cancel any appointments please ring 020 8321 5675/6831 to let them know and to arrange a different time.

Results

Following any testing at the clinic you will be contacted only if there are any problems or concerns with your results. If you wish to contact the clinic to check your results, please ring two weeks after your visit on 020 8321 5675/6831.

Medication

Please ensure you have enough medication left before your next visit (minimum of 1 month supply). Please make sure you contact the clinic on 020 8321 5675/6831 to arrange your medical appointment in due time before running out of medication.

If you are on home delivery and are experiencing delays in your medication please contact the delivery company directly:

If you have any questions or concerns about your medicines, such as side-effects or drug interactions, please contact the clinic to arrange for a pharmacist to get in contact with you.

Alternatively, you can contact our Medicines Information team based at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital on 020 3315 2704 or email .

GP letters

We would like to routinely write to your GP regarding your care in our service. Please ensure your GP information is correct and up-to-date with the clinic.

Other clinic services

Sexual health

It is important that you look after your general sexual health. If you are sexually active this means having a regular screen and, for women, also having an annual smear test. Please ask a doctor, health adviser or a nurse about this.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant, there is a specialist midwife who can support you throughout your pregnancy and postnatal period.

Outside clinic opening times

If you are worried about a possible medical emergency, please see your GP or go to your nearest A&E (Emergency Department).
