The course is aimed at Year 12 students who are considering, or with the right support, could consider a career in medicine. The scheme specifically aims to improve access to Medicine for pupils in schools where traditionally there have not been many applicants to Medical School, as part of a widening participation scheme

It is run by junior doctors over three days, and will cover the following:

  • The hospital team and the patient journey
  • Tips on how to apply, where to apply, personal statement writing and interview tips
  • Information and practice session on the BMAT and UKCAT entrance exams
  • Managing your finances at medical school
  • Chance to meet and speak to current doctors and students
  • Information about other healthcare careers
  • Medicine in the news
  • Ethical case discussions
  • Individualised mock interviews with feedback (sessions running 12–14 April)

If you are a Year 12 student and would like to take part, or know somebody else that might, please contact  for more information on how to apply.
