Essential overnight water works at West Middlesex University Hospital

14 October 2026

Essential water repair works will take place in the Main Building at West Middlesex University Hospital from 11pm on Wednesday 14 October until 4am on Thursday 15 October.

Essential water repair works will take place in the Main Building at West Middlesex University Hospital from 11pm on Wednesday 14 October until 4am on Thursday 15 October.

The works are required to repair a leaking pipe in the Emergency Department. During this time, there will be no hot or cold water supply in affected areas of the Main Building.

The works are being carried out overnight to minimise disruption and arrangements are in place to ensure patient care can continue safely.

What to expect

During the works:

  • drinking water will be provided in affected areas
  • temporary handwashing facilities will be available
  • visitors will be directed to available toilet facilities
  • temporary toilets will be available outside the main Emergency Department entrance and in the ambulance bay
  • ward staff will support inpatients with alternative toilet arrangements, including commodes and bedpans where needed
  • staff will be available to help patients and visitors who need assistance

Emergency Department services will continue throughout the works.

Water supplies will begin to be restored from 4am on Thursday 15 October, with services brought back into use in a controlled and phased way.

If you are visiting the hospital overnight, please follow local signage or ask a member of staff if you need assistance.

Thank you for your patience and understanding while these essential works take place.
