Trust celebrates 74 years of the NHS with tea parties

13 July 2022

On Tuesday 5 July, our Trust celebrated the NHS’s 74th birthday with tea parties in our hospital gardens.

On Tuesday 5 July, our Trust celebrated the NHS’s 74th birthday with tea parties in our hospital gardens.

We had VIPs cut the birthday cake at both sites: at our Chelsea site, Professor Jacqueline Dunkley-Bent, Chief Midwifery Officer for England, and at our West Mid site, local MP Seema Malhotra.

Our staff enjoyed their tea and cake break in the sun, and even sang happy birthday to the NHS.

At our Chelsea site, staff were surprised with a visit by AJ and Curtis Pritchard, and Abbie Quinnen, who served cake and gave staff a salsa dance lesson.

Many thanks to CW+ and NHS Charities for organising this visit.

Later on in the day, Professor Jacqueline Dunkley-Bent walked around our maternity wards, serving tea and coffee to our staff and patients.

At West Mid, Seema Malhotra also handed out cake, and thanked our staff on the Kew Ward in particular, for their exemplary care.

We hope all our staff enjoyed the day’s festivities.
