Getting to our sites this bank holiday Monday

16 September 2022

Due to the state funeral, there will be no vehicle access to Chelsea and Westminster Hospital on Mon 19 Sep.

Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and West Middlesex University Hospital will be open in line with our normal bank holiday operations on Monday 19 September 2022.

This means that some of our services have been reduced, and you should be contacted directly if your appointment has changed.

We are prioritising urgent and emergency care at both our sites.

Getting to Chelsea and Westminster Hospital

Due to road closures, there will be no non-emergency vehicle access to Chelsea and Westminster Hospital on Monday.

You will not be able to access the hospital by car.

You MUST bring proof of your appointment to Chelsea and Westminster Hospital—this could be a text, email, or appointment letter.

If you have an appointment, you are advised to walk from nearby tube stations including South Kensington, Gloucester Road, and West Brompton, but please check before you travel as public transport services are subject to change and stations could close at short notice.

Getting to West Middlesex University Hospital

The hospital will be accessible by car and public transport.

Central London will be busy—check before you travel and leave extra time for your journey.

Visiting a patient

All our normal visiting restrictions have been eased for Monday.

Patients will have access to watch the state funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II if they wish.
