New Research and Development Director at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital

Professor Mark Johnson has been appointed into a new role as Director of Research and Development at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

Professor Mark Johnson has been appointed into a new role as Director of Research and Development at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. 

He has been a Consultant Obstetrician at the Trust since the early 1990s, and is accredited in Endocrinology, Diabetes and General Internal Medicine as well as Obstetrics and Gynaecology.  Professor Johnson is part of the high risk maternity team at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital with a special interest in medical disorders of pregnancy.  He holds an Imperial College London academic appointment which includes a full research programme. 

Dr Zoë Penn, Medical Director, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust said, “I know Mark will be an important part of growing our research offer on this site, and enhancing our relationship with Imperial College to the mutual benefit of our patients and all our stakeholders and ensuring we continue to deliver world class care.” 

Prof Johnson starts his new role at the beginning of February and said, “I’m delighted to have the opportunity to work more closely with the talented teams here at the Trust. I look forward to developing an exciting research programme in close collaboration with our Academic Partners in Imperial College.”
