Shivon Thompson has generously donated special ‘angel baby gowns’ to the Chelsea and Westminster maternity for use by bereaved parents.

Shivon said: “These angel baby gowns are made for babies born and sadly pass away in memory of my beautiful second born daughter who was sadly born sleeping after 35 weeks plus pregnancy.  It was the 30th of September 2015 after an exciting day of sorting out baby bits ready for the much anticipated arrival of my new bundle of joy I noticed she wasn’t moving, so went to hospital to be told there was no heartbeat and I would not be bringing my daughter home. I then gave birth to her on the 3rd of October and dressed her in the beautiful outfit I had for her but sadly some parents don’t have time to get an outfit or the outfit they have is too big for their tiny angel/angels.  This is where ‘Dresses for Angels’ comes in - made with love by two other angel mummies from Killamarsh, Sheffield.  Lisa jane Fletcher whose daughter Lillie Grace Fletcher was born sleeping on the 10th of October 2015 and Shelly Batty whose daughter Beth Batty was born on the  25th of September 1996 and after  four days in NICU sadly passed away. They make these so other families who still have sadly got to go down this journey have something beautiful for their baby’s final journey and to give them some comfort.”

Loraine Pearce, maternity bereavement facilitator, said: ”The maternity unit is so grateful to Shivon, her family and friends for the donation of these beautiful gowns which have helped other grieving families provide something special for their baby.”
