Chelsea and Westminster singled out as 'popular trust' in Staff Survey

22 March 2011

Health watchdog the Care Quality Commission has published the results of its annual survey of staff working in every NHS trust in the country.

Health watchdog the Care Quality Commission has published the results of its annual survey of staff working in every NHS trust in the country.

The response rate at Chelsea and Westminster was 64% compared to a national response rate of 54%—ours was the second highest response rate of all acute hospital trusts in London.

Coverage in the Evening Standard singled out Chelsea and Westminster as one of the most ‘popular’ NHS trusts in London because the vast majority of staff would be willing to recommend the hospital to their friends and family as a place to work and/or be treated.

For the second year in a row we are also rated in the top 20% of acute hospital trusts nationally for Staff Engagement including good communication between senior management and staff.

However, the Trust is not complacent and we know there is plenty of room for improvement—an overall action plan to address key issues across the organisation will be drawn up and individual wards and departments will be expected to create their own action plans in response to their local results.

The full Trust level Staff Survey report is available on the Care Quality Commission website at www.cqc.org.uk.
