On Sunday 19 June, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital (369 Fulham Road, London, SW10 9NH) will be taking part in a training exercise to test its preparedness for a major incident.

As part of the exercise, the hospital's Evacuation Plan will be tested to rehearse how the hospital would work together with other organisations—for example police, fire and ambulance services—in the event of a real major incident.

The hospital will continue to provide a full service as usual and patients and visitors should experience little or no disruption.

One of the hospital’s wards will be evacuated and the exercise will involve hospital staff, actors who will play the part of casualties, and emergency services including police, fire and ambulance.

During the exercise, emergency service vehicles will be located outside the hospital on Fulham Road and they may also be parked in Hollywood Road (adjacent to the hospital).

Please do not be alarmed or concerned—it is all part of the training exercise.

For further information about the training exercise, please contact Catherine Sands (Acting Emergency Planning Lead Officer) on 020 8746 8000 and ask for bleep 6729.
