Antenatal Clinic refurbishment—starts Monday 13 June

10 June 2011

A refurbishment of our Antenatal Clinic is due to start on Monday 13 June to improve the reception and patient waiting areas for women who choose to have their baby at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.

A refurbishment of our Antenatal Clinic is due to start on Monday 13 June to improve the reception and patient waiting areas for women who choose to have their baby at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.

Construction work in the clinic, which is located on the Ground Floor of the hospital, is due for completion on Monday 25 July and the revamped clinic should be fully operational on Monday 8 August.

Vivien Bell, Head of Midwifery, says: “There may be some disruption while the work is ongoing but we will be making every effort to keep this to a minimum.

“We hope that the refurbishment will result in an enhanced patient experience for pregnant women by improving the flow of patients through the clinic and also improving privacy.”

Chelsea and Westminster Hospital’s maternity services are increasingly popular with women:

  • 5,738 deliveries in Maternity in 2010/11—compared with 5,497 in 2009/10, 5,311 in 2008/09 and 5,177 in 2007/08
  • 95% of women said their care at Chelsea and Westminster was ‘Excellent’, ‘Very good’ or ‘Good’ in the Care Quality Commission’s latest national survey of women’s experiences of maternity services

We hope that the refurbishment of the Antenatal Clinic will improve further women’s experience of maternity services at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.
