The students and teachers of the Chelsea Community Hospital School celebrated the official opening of their brand new school on Thursday 16 September.
It is one of the first purpose-built hospital schools in the country and provides education for children and young people staying in one of the hospital's inpatient wards at Chelsea and Westminster, as well as the day-case ward and Burns Unit.
The occasion marked a double celebration for the school, which was recently awarded the prestigious International School Award by the British Council in recognition of the work they do with schools located around the world, including one in Gaza with which the students communicate via videoconference.
