Colleagues and friends at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital are mourning the loss of consultant craniofacial surgeon Martin Kelly who died suddenly last night.

He was brought to the hospital’s A&E department after collapsing at home. Every effort was made to resuscitate him but regrettably he passed away.

Heather Lawrence, Chief Executive said: “Martin was a gifted surgeon who will be missed by all who knew and worked with him. Our thoughts at this difficult time are with his wife and young family.

“Martin will be remembered for his work as co-founder and one of the driving forces behind Facing The World, a charity treating children from poor countries with severe facial deformity who were often operated on at Chelsea and Westminster.”
