Clinical skills

The Clinical Skills Laboratory in the Centre for Clinical Practice provides an environment for instructional teaching combined with hands-on practical application.

The laboratory is equipped with facilities for training in a variety of skills suitable for beginning practitioners and students through to advanced clinicians.

Part-task trainers and models can be utilised for practicing interventions such as suturing, catheterisation, venepuncture and cannulation as well as patient examination techniques.

The Clinical Skills Laboratory allows participants to develop high levels of competence and confidence in a safe, risk-free environment.
