Plastic Surgery
The inpatient plastic (reconstructive) surgery service and associated services recently transferred from Queen Mary’s Roehampton.
The dedicated Hand Management Unit, already in existence at Queen Mary’s also transferred and has been enhanced with the transfer of trauma hand surgery and outpatients clinics from Charing Cross Hospital. This Hand Management Unit is dedicated to the treatment of hand injuries operating within the day surgery complex. Emergency hand clinics and support from the multidisciplinary team of physiotherapists and occupational therapists are provided 4 times a week.
The inpatient service treats various conditions form congenital deformities, skin cancers, post burns scarring and disfigurements to patients. Regular plastic dressing clinics are held within the outpatient area. A community liaison nurse provides support to patients in their homes pre and post operative procedure.
A comprehensive outreach service is provided by many of the consultants to several hospitals including West Middlesex, Frimley Park, Epsom, Queen Mary’s Roehampton, Ashford and St Peters and St Mary’s.
