Working at our Trust

Once all your pre-employment checks are complete you will need to arrange a start date with your manager. Once the start date has been confirmed we will issue you with your contract and book you onto a Corporate Welcome. Along with your contract you will receive registration details to our eLearning platform (learning.chelwest) where you are able to complete your core training before you start.

Corporate welcome (Trust induction)

When you join us you will be invited to our corporate welcome along with other new starters. At induction you will meet members of our executive team who will explain our vision and values. You’ll also complete all the mandatory training needed for your role, which is delivered in a mix of online and classroom learning. As part of the induction process you will also complete a local induction with your line manager.

Local induction

As part of your induction process you will meet with your line manager go through a local induction to your department. The purpose of the local induction is to familiarise you with the aims, objectives and expectations of your ward or department. This should help clarify your role and responsibilities and assist your understanding of the practical day to day support that is available.

Support for new starters

To help you settle into your new role you will have a 6-month probation period to ensure you are properly supported, as you learn your new job and what is expected of you. We also want to identify any training and development needs and put objectives in place to support you in your role and career. You’ll have regular meetings with your line manager to discuss your progress.
