Professional expertise

  • Obstetric Anaesthesia - particularly the effects of adult congenital heart disease in pregnancy


Dr Dob has looked after over 2000 obstetric patients needing anaesthesia since 1998 when he was appointed a Consultant in the Magill Department of Anaesthesia at Chelsea and Westminster. He has also anaesthetised more than 8000 patients for other procedures, including cataract surgery, and knee surgery. He was appointed to the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Obstetric Anaesthesia in 2008. Dr Dob also has an interest in medical crisis management simulation,safety and teaching and was one of the founder members of the Chelsea & Westminster Simulation Department in 1999. He has also written a book entitled "Crises in Childbirth - Why Mothers Survive".
