Voices of young people in shaping local mental health services

25 August 2021

Project to improve access and experience of children and young people’s mental health services across North West London.

A project is underway to improve access and experience of children and young people’s mental health services across the eight boroughs in North West (NW) London.

North West London Clinical Commissioning Group (NWLCCG) is working with the charity YoungMinds to find 10-12 young people between the ages of 14 and 24 to influence and shape the participation and co-production opportunities for children and young people in local mental health services.

The young people chosen will work with YoungMinds and NWLCCG for the first six months, then help on other future projects to support work to improve access and experience of mental health and wellbeing services across NW London.

YoungMinds is the UK’s leading charity committed to improving the emotional wellbeing and mental health of children and young people. They are leading the recruitment of Participation Champions who can volunteer for this project for a minimum of 12 months.

Young people will be offered the opportunity to be involved in co-production projects in a variety of ways to suit them. This might include joining an in-person session or meeting (where safe to do so), an online session or video, or providing audio or written feedback.

Anyone interested in getting involved can download the role description and application form. This needs to be submitted by Monday 30th August at 5pm and, if successful, this will be followed up with an informal interview in September.
