10 Hammersmith Broadway welcomed Labour MP for Hammersmith Andy Slaughter along with Katie Clarke, a representative of the Terence Higgins Trust.
On 8 June 2023, 10 Hammersmith Broadway welcomed Labour MP for Hammersmith Andy Slaughter along with Katie Clarke, a representative of the Terence Higgins Trust.
Andy Slaughter met with Dr Rachael Jones, Consultant in Genitourinary Medicine and HIV, and Dr Christopher Shaw, Clinic Manager, to discuss the important work of 10 Hammersmith Broadway, the Terence Higgins Trust, and sexual health clinics in the prevention and treatment of sexually transmitted infections.
The Terence Higgins Trust is the largest voluntary sector provider of HIV and sexual health services in the UK and aims to support people living with HIV.
Rachael said: “Andy's visit was timely given this week's sobering news of soaring STI rates and publication of the HIV action plan. We look forward to hearing his questions in parliament regarding our funding, workforce challenges and the need for a national strategy”.
This visit was an opportunity to let the government know about the incredible work we are doing, the unique pressures our sexual health services face, and how they can be supported in the future given the current challenges.
