The urology services at Chelsea and Westminster NHS Foundation Trust are carried out on two sites; the Chelsea and Westminster site and the West Middlesex University Hospital site.
What we do
The urology services at Chelsea and Westminster NHS Foundation Trust are carried out on two sites—Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and West Middlesex University Hospital. Both sites offer a full range of assessment, treatment and follow-up for a wide range of urological problems and procedures. The teams on both sites have extensive experience in the treatment of benign and malignant urological conditions.
By using the latest diagnostic and treatment technologies, the treatment we provide is as a state-of-the-art treatment which is minimally invasive. Urology works closely with other specialties such as general surgery, gynaecology, obstetrics, dermatology, radiology and infertility service teams, as well as medical and clinical oncology to deliver a holistic, patient-focused service. Both sites provide excellent opportunities for training, research, and innovation with regular academic activities..

- Dedicated outpatient clinics for urological cancers, stone disease, penile skin conditions (penile dermatoses), erectile dysfunction and infertility
- Image-fusion transperineal template-guided prostatic biopsies
- Bladder instillation clinics (intravesical chemotherapy—mitomycin, immunotherapy- BCG and cystistat)
- Renowned assisted conception unit (ACU) including on site embryology service and sperm retrieval facilities

- Flexible cystoscopy clinics, botox Injections, TULA laser ablation of bladder tumours under local anaesthetic

- All general urological operations
- Laparoscopic nephrectomy at Chelsea and Westminster and robotic-assisted laparoscopic prostate and kidney surgery (at Imperial College)
- Comprehensive stone surgery including percutaneous stone surgery (PCNL) and flexible ureterorenoscopy
- Minimally invasive treatment for small kidney tumours
- Complex penile surgery including skin grafting
- Andrological and infertility operations including sperm retrieval in liaison with the assisted conception unit
