John Hunter Clinic for Sexual Health (JHC)

The John Hunter clinic is a friendly, confidential and free NHS sexual health clinic based on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the St Stephens centre (opposite Tesco) next to Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.

We offer full sexual health tests, treatment, advice and other specialised sexual health services.

If you have ever had unprotected sex and never had a check-up we recommend you come along and have a sexual health screen as it is common to have an infection and not be aware of it.

We are open Monday to Friday with 2 evening clinics on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

We offer routine appointments but if you need to see us urgently—for example, PEP, emergency contraception or other urgent problems—we have emergency walk-in appointments available daily.

Our services

• Testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections (STIs/STDs), for example, chlamydia, gonorrhoea, HIV, syphilis, hepatitis, herpes, warts
• Treatment of other genital conditions, for example, thrush, bacterial vaginosis and skin problems
• Rapid HIV tests: results available within a few minutes
• Pregnancy testing/family planning/contraception, including implants and coils
• Sexual Health Adviser service providing advice and support around all aspects of STIs and HIV including partner notification and risk reduction
• Advice and referral for termination of pregnancy/abortion
• Follow-up care for patients who are HIV+
• Hepatitis B/C screening and Hepatitis B vaccinations for at-risk individuals
• Access to psychosexual clinic
• Safer sex advice
• Free condoms/femidoms/dental dams/lubricant
• Text/telephone results service

• Know4Sure at the London Lighthouse, Ladbroke Grove on Monday evening's for rapid HIV tests
• SWiSH clinic: Outreach clinic on Wednesday afternoon's working in partnership with Terrence Higgins Trust for sex workers
• Club Drugs Clinic at DTC: working in partnership with the Drug Treatment Centre (DTC) and Antidote on Friday afternoons
