Craniofacial Surgery (children)
Our specialist craniofacial team performs complex surgery on children for the correction of a wide range of congenital deformities of the head and neck and facial disfigurement caused by disease, as well as the management of craniofacial trauma.
The team includes seven specialists with wide-ranging expertise in craniofacial surgery, maxillofacial, neurosurgery, oculoplastic surgery and orbitopalpabral surgery (performed in and around the eye) which is a highly specialised field and unique to Chelsea and Westminster.
In addition, children and their families are also supported by a paediatric craniofacial nurse who acts as a link between families and other members of the team and helps them access support and community services.
Our surgical team also works across our adult craniofacial service, ensuring that children benefit from a seamless transition from child to adolescent and adult services if required.
