A fantastic ‘Perfect Day’

by Karl Munslow-Ong (Deputy Chief Executive)—What a fantastic day! I thoroughly enjoyed my time with the porters and estates and facilities support staff on the West Mid site.

The ‘Perfect Day’ initiative took place recently at Chelsea and Westminster, with senior managers taking a shift on the wards and in departments and clinics as porters, receptionists, healthcare assistants and other roles.

What a fantastic day! I thoroughly enjoyed my time with the porters and estates and facilities support staff on the West Mid site.

I've gained a much greater appreciation of the pivotal role they play in the delivery of high quality care for patients, and hopefully they, in turn, recognise the Trust commitment to ensuring we provide our core services in the most efficient and effective way possible.

What also struck me is the sheer volume of good ideas and appetite for doing things differently which we need to support and harness.

Very much looking forward to the next event.
