More outpatient services will be provided in the brand new outpatient department at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital from Monday 4 April.

The transfer of a number of outpatient services to the Lower Ground Floor is due to be completed this weekend when a number of specialties will join the Beta Cell Diabetes Centre which moved into the new space in January.

From Monday 4 April all appointments for the following specialties will be in the new area:

Work started in August 2010 to redevelop a large area of the lower ground floor of Chelsea and Westminster Hospital to accommodate outpatient services previously based in Outpatients 1 on the 1st Floor and in the Beta Cell Diabetes Centre on the 2nd Floor.

The first Diabetes patients were treated in the new department on Monday 31 January.

The new outpatient department on the Lower Ground Floor is part of the first major redevelopment of Chelsea and Westminster Hospital since it opened in 1993.
