Filming of the second series of the award-winning BBC documentary Junior Doctors: Your Life in Their Hands started at Chelsea and Westminster on Monday 1 August.

Filming of the second series of the award-winning BBC documentary Junior Doctors: Your Life in Their Hands started at Chelsea and Westminster on Monday 1 August.

The series, which will follow the lives of eight junior doctors at work and at home, is being filmed over the next three months and is due to be broadcast in six one-hour episodes on BBC3 starting in January 2012.

Staff, patients and visitors will see the BBC cameras out and about in the hospital from now until the end of October as they shine a light on the experiences of the junior doctors.

Filming is being carried out sensitively by an experienced production team, working closely with the Trust's Communications Department, and procedures for gaining consent to filming and broadcast of footage from both patients and staff were agreed before cameras started rolling earlier this month.

The first series of Junior Doctors: Your Life in Their Hands, which was set in Newcastle, won Best Popular Factual programme in the Broadcast Digital Awards.
