Important information about the location of your care

We want to ensure you receive the best possible care during your pregnancy and give you the choice to have your care and give birth at either Chelsea and Westminster or West Middlesex hospital. While many of our services and clinics are available at both sites, some are offered only at one.

We will always strive to respect your choice, but in certain circumstances—such as specific requirements of your pregnancy or if your chosen site has reached capacity—your appointment or place of birth may need to be at the other site. At times, to maintain safety, we may be unable to accept referrals for care from those living outside the community boundaries of the hospitals due to current capacity levels. Our first priority is to those who live within the boundary as their local hospital, but we aim to accept as many people as is safely possible who wish to give birth at our hospitals.

The quality of care we provide is consistent across our entire service, and any changes will only be made to ensure that you and your baby are cared for in the safest place at that time.
