Saji Alexander did his undergraduate training at Christian Medical College Vellore, India. He completed his postgraduate paediatric training in London. He was appointed as a paediatric consultant in September 2005. In addition to being a general paediatrician, Saji Alexander is a paediatric diabetologist and have a major special interest in paediatric endocrinology. He was trained at Chelsea and Westminster, Great Ormond Street and University College London Hospitals in paediatric endocrinology and diabetes. Other than general endocrinology he jointly runs a Bone marrow transplant endocrine late-effects clinic with the haematologists at St Marys Hospital. He also does clinics at Royal Brompton Hospital for children with CF related diabetes. He is involved in audit and research activity based around his clinical work- Vitamin D deficiency prevalence, endocrine late effcts of non-oncological BMT and fertlity preservation in cancer patients. He is the Royal College (RCPCH) Collge tutor for the department of paediatrics.
