Advanced Life Support Course (ALS) e-ALS

A two-day course teaching theory and practical skills to effectively manage cardio-respiratory arrest, peri-arrest situations and special circumstances, and to prepare senior members of multi-disciplinary team to treat patient until transfer to a critical care area is possible.

This is a course combining e-learning and face-to-face training.You will have access to e-learning content starting from a month prior to the face-to-face course up to five months. The e-learning duration is for seven hours. The face-to-face course covers all the practical and testing elements of the course.

Advanced Paediatric Life Support (APLS) Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS)

A course providing emergency team with the knowledge and skills to be able to manage the seriously ill or injured child to stabilisation and transfer. It also includes the management of the child or infant in cardiac arrest.

A course teaching a simple systematic approach to the management of trauma patients through interactive tutorials, skills teaching and simulated patient management scenarios.

Note: As per Royal College of Surgeons for England recommendations: This course is suitable for: FY2, CT1-2, ST1-2, SAS Grades and suitably trained advanced practitioners.

Advanced Trauma Nursing (ATNC) European Paediatric Life Support (EPLS)

A four day course providing the skills and knowledge necessary to care for the trauma patient, safely and effectively.

A course providing training for multi-disciplinary healthcare professionals in the early recognition of the child in respiratory or circulatory failure and the development of knowledge and core skills required for intervening, and preventing further deterioration towards respiratory or cardio respiratory arrest.

Hospital Major Incident Medical Management and Support (HMIMMS) Immediate Life Support (ILS)

A course teaching the systematic approach to a major incident for health service personnel, to assist the transition from working in an emergency department to working at the scene.

A one-day course training healthcare personnel in cardiopulmonary resuscitation, airway management and safe defibrillation (manual and/or AED), enabling them to immediately manage patients in cardiac arrest until the arrival of a cardiac arrest team and to participate as members of that team.

Generic Instructor Course Newborn Life Support (NLS)

A two day course comprising a lecture, demonstrations, discussion and practice stations. The course is designed to teach the candidate how to teach adults effectively.

A course giving healthcare professionals responsible for initiating resuscitation at birth the knowledge and skills for the standard management of a new born infant during the first 10–20 minutes.

Bedside Emergency Assessment Course for HCAs (BEACH)

A one-day course training that aims to provide healthcare staff with the requisite knowledge and skills needed to recognise a seriously ill child and initiate appropriate interventions to prevent cardio respiratory arrest, treat child in respiratory or cardio respiratory arrest for a short while before the arrival of resuscitation team.

To provide training to Healthcare Assistants and Support Workers in techniques and skills needed to recognise and escalate the deteriorating patient.

ALERT

ALERT is a multi-professional course to train staff in recognising patient deterioration and act appropriately in treating the acutely unwell. The course is usually delivered as a one-day interactive seminar built around practical patient-based scenarios. The day is supported by a comprehensive reference manual and slide presentation. ALERT uses a structured and prioritized system of patient assessment and management to enable a pre-emptive approach to critical illness.
