Our visiting policy and measures to protect you

The Trust is following NHS guidance in our visiting policy and measures to protect our patients, visitors and staff. We recognise the importance of visiting, but we also have a duty to everyone on our sites.

• Please do not attend our hospital sites if you have symptoms of COVID-19.
• Patients on wards are allowed two visitors per day between 2–7pm.
• Patients with an outpatient appointment may bring one person with them to the appointment.

Some exceptions apply:

• Visiting a child or baby
• Visiting a patient at the end of their life or in intensive care

Exceptions to the new guidance above must be discussed and agreed with the nurse-in- charge or head of department in the relevant area.

Visiting guidance

• You must wear a face mask in all areas—clinical and non-clinical—throughout our hospitals and clinics (unless exempt). These are available at our hospital and ward entrances
• We encourage you to take a lateral flow test (LFT) within 24 hours of attending the hospital to ensure you are COVID-19 negative
• Please observe social distancing from other visitors and patients, and maintain hand hygiene
• Please do not congregate in common areas of the hospital 

You cannot attend if:

• you have symptoms of COVID-19
• you have tested positive
• you have symptoms of another infectious disease
• you have been identified as a contact

When patients are or might be positive for COVID-19, on a COVID-19 ward, or on ICU, there will be additional restrictions and precautions in place, and visitors are advised to check with the unit team before visiting.
