Chelsea Children’s Hospital Charity held a Christmas party for children at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital on Saturday 3 December.

The children were thrilled to be joined by three inspirational track athletes from Team GB who had all been selected for the Rio Olympics. Daryll Neita won Bronze at Rio in the 4x100m relay, Ashleigh Nelson is a World, Commonwealth and European medallist, and Ojie Edoburun is a European Junior Gold medallist.

The GB athletes had lots of fun with kids at the party and then toured the wards to lift the spirits of the brave kids who were too unwell to join in. They were absolutely charming and the children were thrilled to meet them!

What they said

Darryll Neita: “Such a good feeling being able to make so many children smile this morning!”

Ashleigh Nelson: “What an honour to meet so many brave children today, they've made my day. Thank you Chelsea Children’s Hospital Charity!”

Ojie Edoburun: “Had a lot of fun meeting the children at the Chelsea Children’s Hospital Christmas party.”
