Diarrhoea and vomiting—help us protect our patients and staff

08 December 2015

It is that time of year when there is an increase in incidences of viral diarrhoea and vomiting both in the community and in hospitals.

It is that time of year when there is an increase in incidences of viral diarrhoea and vomiting both in the community and in hospitals. If someone visits hospital with these symptoms it could cause an outbreak of diarrhoea and vomiting in our wards and departments, which could prevent our staff from providing good care and experience to our patients this winter.

To protect our patients we would like to ask you to not visit the hospital if you have diarrhoea and/or vomiting, and stay away for a full 72 hours after your symptoms have ceased. Do not bring children, friends or family to the hospital if they have had D&V within the last 72 hours.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
