Governors are key players in deciding the future direction of the hospital. Working like represented Councillors in Local Authorities, Governors act as the eyes and ears of local people, making sure that their voice is heard when important decisions about healthcare provision are being made.

Governors are part of the Council of Governors. This body meet quarterly and at this meeting provide feedback as a critical friend to the Trust when formal decisions are about to be made by the Trust Board.

We have three different types of elected Governor - patient, public and staff. Each type of Governor provides a different perspective on decisions to do with Chelsea and Westminster and these different views and experiences help us make sure that every decision takes into account the diverse opinions of everyone that cares about the hospital. As a member, you should be aware of both the type of membership you have and the geographical area you represent.

Your vote is vital in electing the right person to represent the views of yourself, your family and your friends. Don’t waste it! If you are in a constituency where an election is taking place you should have received a ballot paper and an email. You can vote by completing ballot paper either electronically or by post. Make sure you do so no later than 6 December.
