The Maternity Department’s annual Service of Remembrance for the families and friends of babies and young children who have died during pregnancy, soon after birth, or when very young, will take place at 3.00pm on Sunday, 13 October 2013.  The staff of the Maternity Department at West Middlesex extend a welcome to all those who are mourning the loss of a baby or young child.

Tonie Neville, General Manager for the Maternity Unit, said: “This annual service is always well attended and parents tell us that it is hugely important to them and other family members as we acknowledge the losses they have experienced.

“The service gives families the opportunity to meet other people with similar experiences and talk to midwives and doctors. Some families attend the service year after year, giving us hope that perhaps we are going some way to helping those affected by infant death come to terms with their loss."

The service will take place in the Multi-Faith Centre in the hospital atrium and will be followed by refreshments.
