New Medical Director appointed

Miss Zoë Penn has been appointed as the Trust’s Medical Director following a competitive recruitment process.

Miss Zoë Penn has been appointed as the Trust’s Medical Director following a competitive recruitment process.

She will take over from Dr Mike Anderson who steps down from the role of Medical Director after 10 years in post.

Miss Penn is currently Divisional Medical Director for Women, Neonatal, Children & Young People, HIV, GUM & Dermatology Services and is a Consultant Obstetrician by background. She has been a consultant with the Trust for 17 years, during which time she has held a number of positions including Clinical Lead for Gynaecology and Clinical Director for Women and Children’s Services.

Chief Executive Tony Bell said, “This is a high profile role within the Trust which attracted a large number of candidates. I would like to congratulate Zoë on her appointment and wish her every success. The Trust has a strong reputation for high quality care and Zoë has demonstrated through her longstanding commitment to the organisation that she is capable of meeting all the challenges and opportunities ahead.

“I would also like to take the opportunity to thank Mike for his significant contribution as Medical Director. Mike will continue to work as a Consultant Gastroenterologist at the Trust.”
