Twitter afternoon at 56 Dean Street—Tuesday 20 March, 1–5pm

We will be tweeting live at 56 Dean Street, our HIV and sexual health centre in Soho, next Tuesday 20 March from 1–5pm. You can join the conversation at www.twitter.com/chelwestft.

The event aims to highlight how having a sexual health check should be a normal part of people’s lives, not something to be ashamed about. We will be following patients through the various stages of their visit in a sensitive way, while maintaining their confidentiality.

People are often anxious about getting checked and knowing their results can be a great relief. People who test positive can be immediately put on appropriate treatment.

Dr Alan McOwan (Lead Clinician at 56 Dean Street) commented: “We’re delighted to be involved in the Twitter event. 56 Dean Street is the UK’s largest HIV and sexual health centre and it’ll be great to allow people to find out what happens on a typical visit.”

56 Dean Street offers a full range of appointment-based and walk-in services including sexual health checks, HIV tests, contraception, advice and counselling, free condoms and young people’s services.
