Chelsea and Westminster craniofacial surgeon Niall Kirkpatrick features in Channel 5 documentary ‘The Baby With a New Face’ at 9pm this Thursday (28 June).

Mr Kirkpatrick and his team performed life-changing surgery on Viet, an 18-month-old boy from Vietnam with severe facial deformities, who was brought to the UK by children’s charity Facing the World.

The documentary also features a number of other Chelsea and Westminster staff including eye surgeon Naresh Joshi who all volunteered their expert services for free to help the charity’s mission.

Facing the World was established by surgeons from Chelsea and Westminster Hospital to provide reconstructive surgery to children from the developing world.

The documentary follows Viet’s amazing journey from his fishing village in Vietnam to London for transformation surgery carried out by one of the world’s leading craniofacial surgeons.

Facing the World depends upon charitable donations to treat Viet and other children like him—without this support their potentially life-threatening conditions would go untreated.
